The Cradle of Aviation Museum

The Cradle of Aviation Museum features a world-class collection of aircraft. It documents and preserved the history of aviation in Long Island through its exhibits of actual historic aircraft. The Museum’s glass-and-steel building houses a Grumman F-11 Tiger, which is the first supersonic jet of the Navy. I

The other galleries include the Golden Age of Flight, featuring a sister airplane to Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis, the Jet Age, showing the commercial airports on Long Island, and the Space Exploration, featuring a Grumman Lunar Module LM-13 that was built in Bethpage in 1972. The Museum houses its very own IMAX Dome Theater which shows films every day.
